This site began with manor being built as home to the Blood family. It continued as a country residence up until the 1950s when it became a hotel. It prospered for the following decades, until closing its doors in the mid 90s. Many attempts were made to re open the hotel but money always ran out and work was halted around 2007 when a protected group of bats were found to be nesting in the attic.
This explore was especially important to me as my parents celebrated their wedding here in 1982. Access is from a long avenue to the west and then through a back window. The interior is quite bare apart from a piano and other furniture in a ground floor room. The beautiful staircase is the main attraction.
