This New Jersey tuberculosis hospital was in operation from the early 1900s through the late 1970s. It sits adjacent to a closed psychiatric hospital that was shuttered in the last decade. The psychiatric hospital still has power, a maintenance staff and active alarms. There is a security patrol in addition to the staff. The grounds are state operated o they has ultimate jurisdiction. The structure is concrete poured floors and are relatively solid. The plaster and ceiling is collapsed in many places and the structure leaks badly when it rains. The windows are broken and wind creates banging doors and other starling sounds. The third floor is only accessible by an outside fire escape but I wouldn't trust it to hold my weight. It is a good 30 foot drop from the fire escape. The stairwell in the rear of the structure is badly rusted and not structurally sound. The elevator is collapse in the basement and the shaft is wide open. The morgue is in the basement which is accessible from the outside. It is a single refrigerated morgue but it isn't built into the structure and is a stand alone unit from about the 60s.
